WE are thrilled when our dear friends also become our clients, but this was a difficult session to shoot! Although WE were honored to photograph the Collins family, we were a bit sad as well. When we scheduled the session, it was going to be a Christmas card/holiday session, but shortly after, we found out this precious family would be leaving in 2014 to move home to the States. So, this session turned into a "farewell to Belgium" session.
We thought it was important to take pictures at their house! This former barn was transformed into a beautiful house. And for Brandi, Cary, and the kids, it became a home filled with love and laughter over the three years they spent in Belgium. Taking the shoot on location, the Collins family had never been to Villers Abbey, so we all agreed that would be a great setting for a final photo shoot. Life in Belgium will certainly not be the same without this family. Our husbands are friends and colleagues, the moms are together daily, and the kids are friends as well. This is the sad reality of expat life. Our friends must leave us. But, WE look forward to more time in the US together in the years to come. We wish you nothing but happiness, our dear friends – and continued success in this next chapter of your lives. You'll be missed more than you will ever know.
