This year has been a tough year...a lot of blessings, but also a lot of growing pains as parents! We now have a high schooler, a 5th grader – and yes, a pre-k student. The girls are at three completely different stages in life and we think that this is truly where the parental tests kick in...how to balance it all!:)
Ila gives us a run for our money each and EVERY night about what she will NOT wear "because this doesn't mats." That would be toddler talk for "this doesn't match." Enoa and Ari are, between them, 6 days, 3 hours a day at gymnastics, and Enoa is also three days a week at track. Ari's homework and PYP 5th grade project are forever looming in my mind and settling into high school and teenage-hood has tried our patience on quite a few occasions (SIGH...)
I have taken on the 1st Vice President Role at the American Women's Club of Brussels, am now a Community Core Committee Member at the kids school, and am trying very hard not to give up on french lessons:) How could I forget WE Photography? Wendy and I went from calling photography a serious hobby – to being completely booked for the month of September. The only person who seems to have some time is my husband, Dwight, as he has finished his dissertation (awaiting grades in November)...Thank God he has really picked up my slack...
Somewhere in all of this, we are still trying to teach the kids to be good people. The girls don't get to church as much as Dwight and I did growing up, but I sure want them to know that God lives in each one of them...
So, all of that to say that, it's that time again for the girls' annual talent show fundraiser to benefit a good cause. This year the girls are running the talent show together. I must admit that I thought long and hard about canceling the talent show this year, but in good conscience, I could not. As parents, we lead by example, right?:)
If you are in Brussels and will be around next Saturday, September 21st, please bring the family and support this cause. This year the proceeds will benefit Anti-Bullying programming at their school. See below for more info:
