WE photographed little Miss Samantha a year ago when WE first started our photography company. At that time, we asked some friends to volunteer their time so that we could improve. Samantha taught me something I will never forget: to always have a plan A, a Plan B and – most important, a trick or two up my sleeve. She's smart, sassy, knows exactly what she wants and is not afraid to be herself. As parents, she's the strong girl that you pray for, but at the same time, she's the kid that tests you along the way.:) Let's just say that I was exhausted after the shoot last year, but that's okay – because I'm so proud of the kids that Heather and John are raising - I know that while society may see little Ms. Samantha as "bossy," I see her as "THE BOSS!" There's absolutely no doubt in my mind that this kid will go far in life.
And their son, Corey, is already on his way to great things. When my 5th grader speaks of him with affection and my 9th grader says he's great too - that must be one special kid! Not many kids bridge the middle school, high school gap! He has that "it" factor – people just want to be around him. There are some kids you meet and know that they are natural born leaders. He is just one of them. John and Heather, you should be so proud of the pair of them.
Now, for Heather - I wasn't so sure about Heather when we first met. We didn't talk much. She had that NY/Jersey edge about her that had me wondering:)...but as with most New Yorkers and Jerseyans, the initial impression I got was all wrong. I am so happy that we got a chance to spend some quality time in Ibiza together! (Thanks, Gretchen Morrison for bringing 29 of us girls to Ibiza, Spain for your birthday weekend). I can honestly say that our day on the boat in Ibiza was one of the best, most relaxed days I have had in Europe - just great conversation and tons of laughter with a great girl next to me! Thanks, Heather! I'm so happy that you will only be moving to London! As soon as you get settled, please start planning our weekend in London. Wendy and I will be there shortly after you get settled! Some relationships are relationships of convenience...this is definitely not one of them. Thanks for being a friend to me and Wendy.
John and Heather, thanks for a great shoot! You keep us smiling with your love, kindness and most important – laughter!
